ten years ago in the ultimate Tory heartland - Titley a retirement village for bankers and oligarchs with their shabby once Michelin star gastopub as their mission control... (i lived 3 km away in the poor houses in the hills) fourty ugly tesco style 'executive homes' were on this map... there is still to be even one built..
close to . entirely against my 'better' judgement and in fact it was mad... not to benefit me in any way and was genuinely dangerous to me - local landowners wished to profit to the tune of millions from developing this land - far too close to wonderful Titley pool nature reserve and had they known my behind the scenes efforts to politick widely for a far more 'sustainable' solution they would have smashed my bicycle up or me...
but...it succeeded.. a few years ago the parish voted on a far less intrusive 'local neighbourhood plan'.. along the lines i first proposed (they all hated for the first year or so) and still today there is only far far less intrusive development proposed..
